Mitty is an amorphous Narehate who lived with Nanachi on the 4thursday layer of the Abyss. [i] Mitty had been a regular human daughter in the by and her appearance changed due to the issue of the ascension from the half dozenth layer. [1]

In Ilblu, information technology is revealed that Belaf paid compensation to accept an exact replica of Mitty built-in into the hamlet from the fourth dimension a "masked man" brought her along to the village. This reproduction even has an verbal copy of Mitty's soul from that moment in fourth dimension. [2]

Appearance

As a human, Mitty was an upbeat and positive young daughter. She was almost always smiling and aspired to be "a future White Whistle". [iii] Her hair was red in color, long, and messy, sticking out at random angles. Some of it seemed to be tied up into a messy ponytail on the back of her head. She wore a tied top and skirt. She also appeared to be slightly more buxom than the children her age. [4]

After bearing the Expletive of the 6th layer, Mitty's torso became something of an amorphous blob. She became covered in light pinkish fur. On the ends of what is left of her arms were long precipitous claws. She has two catlike ears protruding at odds angles from her head. Her oral cavity split upwards and is left hanging open at all times. Both her eyes bulged outwards, until one of them was hit with Bondrewd'due south Relic, Sparagmos, and failed to regenerate. The replica of Mitty in Ilblu is far less kleptomaniacal due to being created before Bondrewd experimented on Mitty's Narehate grade. [vi] Every bit such, she still possesses two eyes and her mouth is far more than shapely without her lower jaw gaping outwards. [7]

Personality

As a human being, Mitty wanted to become a White Whistle Delver. History

Dreadful Experimentation Flashback Arc

Mitty had remained positive until the Curse took effect, insisting she would survive, and even attempting to calm Nanachi down by repeating that it would be okay. Once the Expletive began affecting her, her words became screams of pain and pleads for death. The experiment resulted in Mitty'south body deforming beyond recognition and her intelligence vanishing along with it. [11]

Bondrewd continued to experiment on her and constitute that she was most indestructible. Unable to carry Mitty's suffering any longer, Nanachi took Mitty and fled to the ivth layer. There, Nanachi constructed a hideout for them to live. During this time, Nanachi tried numerous times to put Mitty out of her misery, only nothing could finish her off. [12]

Poison and Soul Liberation Arc

Subsequently Nanachi sent Reg to collect the ingredients needed to assist Riko, Mitty spent a lot time near the unconscious Riko. When Nanachi observes Reg'southward Incinerator , during the second meet with the Orb Piercer, they are surprised that information technology seems very similar to Bondrewd's Artifact, Sparagmos, and realizes they may finally found the mode to free Mitty from her suffering. After the fight is concluded and Reg asks how he can ever repay Nanachi for all their help they ask him a for a favor; to impale Mitty and set her gratuitous. [13]

Reg, first shocked by such an request, reluctantly agrees; after having given it some thought, simply only if Nanachi promises they won't accept their own life afterward out of sorrow. Nanachi bursts out in tears and mourns the loss of their friend, while being comforted by Reg. [14]

Later on, Riko reveals, while she was unconscious and her mind was tortured by the toxicant, she felt the presence of some other daughter being even more unfortunate than she was and they comforted each other with merely sensing each other's presences. [fifteen]

Merely before Riko woke up she felt the presence of the other girl, beingness Mitty, moving on. [xvi]

Ilblu Arc

Despite her supposed decease, a Mitty replica is now seen to reside in Ilblu, where it is said a "masked man" brought her along with him. Belaf smelled the original Mitty'due south true immortality and craved information technology so much that he gave up big portions of his trunk for her to be "born/replicated" into Ilblu. Since then, Belaf has used her as his main source of food, saying that Mitty never runs out, no affair how much of her is eaten. Afterwards on, Riko visits the sage since she has been informed to find Nanachi with him. Riko finds Nanachi and Mitty with Belaf and he tells her how he attained the Mitty replica. In a short flashback, it is shown how Nanachi is moved to tears, out of happiness to be reunited with Mitty, and how they are shocked moments later as they watch how Belaf extends his feelers to drink from Mitty. [18]

Belaf tells Riko that Nanachi offered themself upwardly to him in exchange for ownership of Mitty, and so that Belaf couldn't drink from her anymore, and that he is willing to sell Nanachi dorsum to Riko if she tin requite him something of like value. [xix]

Afterward Nanachi wakes upward, from the trembles of the ongoing battle between Faputa and the villagers, they tell Mitty of their dream. [20]

As Nanachi is about to take their leave with Mitty, Belaf points her in the direction where the bulwark started to disappear. If Mitty should exist brought across, she will terminate to be. This is considering every being that was created in the hamlet can just exist in information technology, and will cease existing if taken outside it. [21]

Nanachi is torn, due to the happiness they experience for having gotten a second chance to come across Mitty, but decides their blessing wasn't given to them by Mitty merely to remain in a dream. Immortality

Afterwards condign a Narehate, Mitty was resistant to every form of Bondrewd's torture and experimentation. In the finish, the just thing that was ultimately able to kill her was Reg's Incinerator. [25]

Trivia

  • The pot of the replica in Ilbu was specifically made to accommodate Mitty and fur can exist seen sticking out of it. [26]
  • The surroundings in Belaf's Firm are brightly colored and Mittiy's eyes are fabricated to give off a sparkle. She is as well surrounded by sweet-smelling flowers, is fragrant herself, and a lot of space has been fix aside so that her cries deport amend. [26]
